Runnin' round & round

It's July what?!

My, oh my, I cannot believe that tomorrow is August 1st.
July has flown by—my days consisting mostly of work, travel, errands, & beach days.

I just spent this past weekend in New York City with a whole gang of friends from school—I returned home to work, run and pack for a few days before I'm off to Philadelphia to settle my brother into his apartment for school.

This summer has been a whirlwind—a whirlwind of fun that is—but that's what summer is about, right?!

Jam packing your days to the maximum limit of hustle and bustle—cause we only have limited time! Eating ice cream sometimes 2x a day—cause well, you can since summer has no rules.
Finding yourself barefoot 9/10 times and collecting a mini beach in your car from all the sand—cause you can vacuum later.
& enjoying everyday, every minute, and being in the moment—

cause just like our friends over at Vineyard Vines say, "Every day should feel this good".

I say, ditto.

Island Time

Sitting, waiting, wishing.

Anyone else wish they could have an endless playlist of Jack Johnson to jam to all day long?!
Maybe just me—and that's ok too.

Summer is in full throttle right now, and with only one (ONE!) month left of my summer break, I have adhered to island time, baby.

I'm enjoying the carefree aura, schedule & duty free (with the exception of work...) time off, with beach days, boat rides, and enjoying all the hotspots just in my backyard.

Who else is with me?!

Dress up

Go on, give it a whirl.

I had two hours to kill the other day in Newport, and what else would a girl do than hit the shops?
My mom and I ventured back to one of our favorite gems we had come across on a previous day of wandering.

I lived a fairytale moment for the next two hours—trying on dress after dress and coming out to give a whirl, twirl and little cat walk to the growing crowd.

That purple dress I have had my eye on for a year—now to only start squirreling away some cash for a year...maybe one day.

House hunting

Dibs on 596 Bellevue Ave.

So what if the only thing I can afford at marble house is maybe...a rock—a girl can dream.
I spent the other day in Newport, RI—which never fails to disappoint the eye.

We were on more of a time schedule, so we headed first for cliff walk—the faster & "dually scenic route"—ocean on the one side, and the mansions on the other.

We shopped, we walked, & we sipped lots of coffee.
My brother and his lady were due to go sailing that afternoon so—like habit—I hiked up and down Memorial Boulevard, in and out of shops, just enjoying the day.

Click back soon to see where & what I wandered off to do.

Navy never fails

Navy is just...my favorite...and strawberries too.

I'm off to work again and couldn't help but share my ensemble today with you guys.
Navy & white—cannot ever go wrong.
Well, maybe if it was a ripped T-shirt, patterned leggings, and combat boots...But the color coordination would be on point.

This tunic is from Elizabeth McKay and it's definitely one of my go-to pieces this summer—it can go from work, to beach, to a night out on the town.

perfect.
