Glad in plaid

Orange you glad when you wear plaid?

See what I did there? A whole cheesy, rhyming pun all about my blazer...
OK I have writer's block—sorry about it.

A few days late here (but better than never, am I right?) are my snaps from Columbus Day.
I spent the day with my mom shoppin', walkin', sippin', and gabbin'.

Notice that ring there on my finger?
That was one of my finds from the vintage shop this weekend—a golden cage ring from the '50s—there was something unique and modern about it screaming my name.

Probably just like this theology research paper due Thursday, screaming my name—and/or anyone gifted at writing please—to finish it...

I blame the writers block on that.

Exploring in the rain

A little rain never hurt nobody.

I was a little crushed to see that it was raining this Saturday—but I did not sissy out on my exploration plans.
Instead I layered and layered some more and also realized I haven't brought rain boots to school yet...so opted for cold wet feet in ballet flats for the day.

But that did not rain on my parade.

I had a wonderful day exploring Providence.
I started down in the financial district and then embarked those hills (and boy is Providence a hill) up to the College Hill area and around Brown.

I walked and walked bopping into every shop, museum, art gallery, and cafe just checking it all out.
I found a gem of a shop—actually a pop up consignment shop—where I picked up just a few vintage goodies...which you'll see later :)

Along with about a dozen new shops I discovered, I found about two dozen restaurants and cafes I am dying to try.
On Saturday though I did cozy up to a window seat at Ellie's Bakery and treat myself to a macaroon and some green tea—and the verdict is I definitely will be returning.

All tied up

Bring on the long weekend & Columbus Day sales.

I'm not sure what was in the air this week but I felt like it was finals week.
I've been all tied up in lecture notes, textbooks, and classes—all while running on coffee and maybe 5 hours of sleep....

Safe to say, I'm ready to collapse into the long weekend (and my bad), kick my feet up, and not touch a textbook or a pen for a few days.

I'm staying the weekend in Providence this year and I'm planning on utilizing my time to finally cross off a couple POI on my master (and always growing) "Things to try & places to see" list.
Annnd you know me, I will always opt to go explore.

Providence is a beautiful, small but growing, city.
Full of art, history, great food and great company, I cannot wait to get my explorin' on.
