A Happy & hoppy Easter to all!
I have been hopping around Philadelphia all weekend—fueled from all the joy, sunshine and leisure time spent with my family.
Easter is a great holiday.
Many people—including myself—are often guilty from overlooking the true meaning of all the festivities and straight into the colorful baskets jam-packed with chocolate goodies and rainbow jelly beans.
OR into the shopping bags carrying precious and pretty spring dresses, bow ties and sandals.
All right, I'll come clean, that was me this year with my Vineyard Vines dress I'm wearing above—but these things are also what make the day so wonderful & special from any other.
My family and I went to Easter service at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philly—where my mom, (I think she would want me to say a few years before) walked the exact same streets and went to the very same church as a student.
The service was beautiful—lively with uplifting songs, promising verses and a crowd rich with heartwarming smiles.
The Pastor mentioned a verse during his sermon that made me smile—because well 1. I love the verse and 2. I had just wrote a paper and used that same verse—what a lucky coincidence I know!
OK ok—try to stay with me here :) The verse is 1 Peter 1:5-6;
"And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while."
We do not have to be afraid—we can be secure, brave and courageous in all that we do and where we all go—but only if we follow the meaning of this verse.
So, in order to do just that, I am writing this down and reading it every morning—I am calling it my uplifting inspiration this week—instead of just scrolling through Instagram while guzzling down my coffee—although I might just save a minute and a sip of coffee left for doing that too!
